Current studies confirm that inadequately performed credit management in the sense of management of debtor risk represents one of the major reasons for the insolvency of companies.
At the same time, there were no recognized guidelines for credit management. The GACMP are eliminating this gap. Building on the outstanding work of the Association of Credit Management in Germany publishing the minimum requirements of credit management for Germany, the Association of Credit Management in Switzerland developed the Generally Accepted Credit Management Principles (GACMP) in English, German, French and Italian making this a global standard.
At this point we would like to thank the German Credit Management Association for graciously allowing us to use the guidelines. We would also like to express our appreciation to countless credit management officers of major Swiss companies who assisted us in reviewing the GACMP for Switzerland.
With the GACMP, interested companies have a guideline now, in which the basic elements of a functioning credit management system are described. In line with our goal of developing guidelines from credit managers to credit managers, we worked hard to ensure that the GACMP can be applied in all companies.
